Our Fall Fundraiser is almost over!
The sale ends Monday, October 7th, so these next few days are crucial to our sale. Please make an extra special effort to get the word out to friends, family members, co-workers, and colleagues to let them know how they can participate and help our school reach its goal. We’ve included all the links from our kick-off email to make it easy for you to get the word out!

Participating has NEVER been easier with our “Hybrid” process. In addition to our traditional way of fundraising - taking brochures around to friends, family and co-workers, filling out order forms and collecting money - you can also help people support the sale ALL ONLINE ! All you have to do is share - share - share the information from the packet you receive in school. Emails, text messages, social media, the ways are “virtually” endless in getting the information out to supporters and make this the BEST fundraising year ever!!

This note is going home with students, but community members are also welcome to provide input:
Great news! A new playground will be installed at Arcade Elementary in the summer of 2026! Although that seems far away, the planning for such a big project starts right now. We'd like to hear from you about what you would like to see in a new playground, and while not every idea can be included, we hope to help design a playground that is fun, functional, safe, and visually appealing to everyone in our school community.
The playground itself will be new, and the location will also be changed. It will be moved closer to our building, and there will be barriers between the playground and parking lot to provide more safety. The parking spaces lost will be relocated back by the walking/bike path, and there will be more spaces added. We will also preserve the shady seating area.
Please submit your responses by Sunday, September 15, so they can be provided to Parkitects on Monday as they create a new playground for us! We will share the initial design and gather feedback before the plans are finalized and submitted for approval from the state.
Parkitects has designed playgrounds you may be familiar with over the years: Holland Elementary, Hamburg Community Playground, Springville Elementary (Fitcore), Ellicottville Elementary, Wales Primary School, and more. While we do want our playground to be unique to us, these are examples of what can be done.

Hello, this is Kerry Slocum, Principal at Arcade Elementary. This is an important message to notify you of a mandatory emergency dismissal DRILL that will be taking place district-wide on Thursday, June 13th, 2024.
We will conduct the dismissal drill 15 minutes prior to the end of the typical school day. This drill is a crucial part of our safety procedures and is designed to ensure that all students and staff know how to respond effectively in the event of an actual emergency that would require us to leave school early.
Parents, please be aware that during the drill, normal dismissal procedures will be followed. If you usually pick up your child, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your usual time and follow the normal dismissal procedures. Bus schedules will be running 15 minutes earlier, and students who ride the bus will be arriving home 15 minutes earlier than the typical time.
All after school activities will take place as normal, including Cubhouse. There is NO CHANGE to after school programs as a result of this drill.
If you have any questions, please contact the main office. Thank you for your attention and cooperation, and have a wonderful evening.

Good evening, Arcade Elementary families, this is Principal Kerry Slocum with TWO important updates. These will be posted on the website, Facebook, and sent via Remind, so feel free to hang up and read them there.
First, I wanted to inform you of our annual evacuation drill taking place tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday, May 15). Students and staff will leave the building and go to a nearby, secure location for this drill. Once we have accounted for everyone, we will return immediately. The entire process should take less than an hour, and students will be dismissed from our building according to regular procedures. The drill will proceed rain or shine, unless there is extreme weather in the area. Please be sure children are prepared for possible rain.
Second, we are excited to see progress at the Emkay site off Church Street. However, as with any big project, there is the potential for some disruption to the flow of traffic. The contractors are working with us and are aware of our schedule, so we hope to maintain our normal drop-off and pick-up procedures. That said, please be prepared for adjustments to traffic patterns or slight delays. We remain committed to safety above all, and that means we may need to be flexible in our procedures to ensure that safety. The portion of the project that may affect traffic could begin as early as tomorrow.
