clean water

Did you know that 703 million people in the world live without clean water? That's more than twice the population of the U.S., or one in 10 people.

Charity: water has made a promise that 100% of public donations go directly to fund sustainable clean water projects around the world.

The 6th grade science students at Pioneer Middle School have been learning about the impact of human activities on the land, water, atmosphere and environment.  In the spirit of activism, the students planned a fundraiser to support Charity: water, a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe water to people around the world.

They took on this task with great enthusiasm.  The students researched the organization to learn more about the projects and impact of Charity: water.  Next, they designed and created colorful and bold posters to educate and promote our fundraiser.  To further their creativity, students brought in empty plastic containers varying from empty detergent containers to pretzel barrels to collect donations from every homebase.

The support from the Pioneer Middle School community was overwhelming.  Students and staff brought in generous donations.  The 6th grade science students collected and counted the donations.  At the fundraiser's end, $1446.95 was raised and donated to Charity: water.  Thank you for your support, Pioneer!
