A scholarship is being established in memory of Melissa Prorok, the long-time Pioneer Middle School principal who lost her battle with cancer on Jan. 3.
Donations are being sought for the scholarship, which is to be awarded this year and perhaps next year.
Kerry Slocum, Arcade Elementary principal and formerly Ms. Prorok's assistant principal at the middle school, is Pioneer's contact for the scholarship.
