Pioneer Middle School will start 2023-24 with Richard Spinelli as acting principal.
Mr. Spinelli is leading the school while Melissa Prorok is out on leave. "I will continue to serve as as acting principal and I am proud to uphold our traditional values of connecting, caring, educating and meeting the needs of every student," Mr. Spinelli said.
He added, "Teachers and staff have been working around the clock to prepare for the upcoming school year, and we are focused on engaging with students, helping them to meet academic requirements, making learning fun, and maintaining a healthy environment in which students feel safe, respected, valued and inspired.
"We encourage students to put their best foot forward, work hard, and explore what the school has to offer, " Mr. Spinelli continued. "Our After-School Program will begin on Monday, September 18, and will give students the opportunity to join clubs, participate in intramural sports, and receive homework help. Bus transportation will be available at 3:15 p.m. for those who are participating."
Pioneer's Return to Learn Orientation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Parents and students will have the chance to meet teachers, learn about the school, and acquire more information on the After-School Program and other activities.
The following day, Wednesday, September 6, will be the first day of classes for all students.
