The latest group of inductees into the Pioneer chapter of National Honor Society have proven themselves greater than adversity.
At a Nov. 29 ceremony inside the high school auditorium, 23 new members joined the ranks of those celebrated in the past for their character, scholarship, leadership and service.
NHS, which is co-advised by Stephanie Hogan and Jillian Hemming, welcomed new members to take the oath and sign the register as their families looked on. Current members shared their thoughts on the qualities and characteristics NHS members strive for.
Teacher Bob Schooley, who is retiring at the end of 2022-23, was the guest speaker for the event.
The new members:
Alaina Barber, Payton Bennet, Olivia Clouse, Jared Day, Shay Edwards, Cora Fleischman, Logan Fleischman, Madison Giboo, Valerie Gilbert, Jose Herrera, Rylan Lavery, Barett Minklein, Ava Mae Ross, Samantha Palmisano, Lexie Phetteplace, Sam Platt, Taylor Rosier, Helen Schneider, Abigale Schwartz, Alexis Sobczak, Anna Tingue, Emelia Watson and Addison Zielenieski.
