Pioneer High School's Technology and Agriculture Welding programs and the Western New York "Dream It, Do It" industry/education partnership arranged a recent Career Day at four local manufacturers.

The companies involved included Koike Aronson, Maple Grove Enterprises, Prestolite Inc., and TPI Arcade.
Technology teacher Larry Cook said students got to witness all of the skilled trades involved in running these companies. They also saw the products each company made.

Pioneer FFA sponsored lunch for the event.
"A great day overall," said Mr. Cook, who teaches Pioneer's engineering and manufacturing courses along with Mr. Donald Kress.
Students heard about specific skills needed, job availability, what the companies are looking for in an employee, how candidates apply and get hired, and possible internships.

The Dream It Do It program was created to educate the next generation workforce about careers in Advanced Manufacturing. The program also seeks to provide manufacturers with the employees that have the skills and training required to fill exciting career opportunities in manufacturing.
