The Pioneer High School varsity baseball team added to its long list of accomplishments for 2024 when it was named the winner of the Dan Smolinski Team Sportsmanship Award.
The award is annually given by the Board of Directors of the Western New York Umpires Association.
The association stated, "As a group of dedicated players. you displayed team spirit, commitment, and perseverance, along with respect to fans, opposition and officials of the game throughout the season. Honor and admiration will be reflected in your school district and community as an example for future players to come."
The Panthers are coached by Dave Buncy.
