Dear Delevan families, now that the winter weather has arrived we would like to send out a reminder. Please be sure that you are signed up for automated messages so that you can receive our robo calls in the event that school is delayed, closed, letting out early or after school activities are canceled due to weather. In the event of a 2 hour delay, latchkey will be closed and students may arrive at 10:45. In the event of an early dismissal or canceled after school activities, there will be no after school latchkey, you will have to call the main office to let them know how your child will be going home. Also remember to watch the news, website or Facebook for school closings or delays. Please contact the main office if you have any questions, thank you!

Our second graders have been working on narrative writing pieces in our writing classes and wanted to share them with others. So each student invited a guest from home to come and share the fun! We turned out the lights (...and used flashlights) and split into small groups where the students read their stories aloud to the group. Thank you to all that joined us!

Today we had some special visitors from, Navient Corporation, to read in each classroom for our Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) day! Each year several employees from Navient donate money and time to ensure every student here at Delevan Elementary receives a free book and has the opportunity to hear an adult role model read aloud. We are thankful for these very generous members from our community.
