A Section 6 Division II title and three individual sectional championships capped off a perfect season for Pioneer's wrestling program.

At the divisional tournament held June 19 at Pioneer, the Panthers topped 28 teams with a total of 126.5 points, 33 points more than its nearest competitor.

Winners in their weight classes were Daniel Kirsch, Kameron Riordan and Alex Miley. They went 3-0 in the tournament.

Coach Chris Edwards noted in comments to the Olean Times Herald that Pioneer had five Panthers make the finals, with three of them winning. Eight competitors placed, and seven were in the top three.

At 172 lbs., Alex Miley actually edged out a teammate, Zach Russell, in the final.

All state championships are cancelled for this year due to COVID concerns and the fact that the start of the wrestling season was delayed.
