Five Pioneer High School seniors will vie for Arcade Winterfest Royalty honors during the annual pageant, being held on Friday, Feb. 7, at 6:30 p.m., inside Arcade Elementary auditorium.
'Winterfest Makes Me Wanna Shout' is the theme of this year's festival, being held Feb. 7-9.
Here are the bios provided by the royalty candidates:
Abigale Schwartz is the daughter of Dean Schwartz of Freedom. She is sponsored by Soul2Soul where she has danced for 15 years. Outside of her love of dance, Abby is a member of the Pioneer Marching Band and National Honor Society, as well as the Cheer and Tennis teams. She's taken part in previous musicals and is also part of the wind ensemble. After graduating, Abby will be attending St. Bonaventure University to major in Health Sciences. Her favorite Winterfest memory is when she was 10 and first came to see the Winterfest Pageant. She said she "couldn't wait to be on that stage one day." Abby would like to thank her dad for always supporting her.
Hailey Reisdorf of Arcade is the daughter of Alicha and Brian Reisdorf. Hailey is a member of the Drama Club and has participated in every Pioneer musical since 5th grade. Outside of school Hailey enjoys dancing, singing, biking, hiking and hanging out with her friends. She is also a member of the Arcade Junior Fire Department, which is also her sponsor this year. After graduation Hailey plans to become an EMT and later go on to become a paramedic. Her favorite Winterfest memory is going to the Pageant every year and seeing all the queen contestants in their gowns, and she was convinced they were princesses. Hailey would like to thank her mom, dad, siblings and friends for supporting her.
Mackenzie Hutchinson of Delevan is the daughter of Shawn and Erica Hutchinson. She is sponsored by Farmhouse Cafe. President of the Drama Club, Mackenzie is also Drum Major of the Marching Band and a member of the school play and musical. In her spare time, she enjoys knitting and practicing all her musical and theatrical endeavors. After graduation, Mackenzie plans to attend Alfred State College for nursing. Her favorite Winterfest memory is competing in the horseshoe tournament every year with her dad. She would like to thank her family and friends for supporting her.
Charles Kolasny of Delevan is sponsored by Coffee Crate. He is the son of Carl and Michele Kolasny. Charles is a member of the Pioneer Cross Country and Track & Field teams. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, pickleball and running. As a member of the track team he runs the distance events, as well as the 3km steeplechase. He has a huge collection of Hot Wheels cars and paper airplanes. Charles is enrolled in the EMT Certification Course at Pioneer and hopes to work in EMS in the future. Next fall, Charles will be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, most likely at University of Buffalo. Charles' favorite Winterfest memory is the More Cowbell skit from when his older sister competed in the Winterfest pageant. He would like to thank his parents and his former band teacher, Mr.Jared Burch, for their continued musical support.
Liam Cousins of Delevan is sponsored by Colour Barre. They are the child of Audrey Coates. Liam is a member of the Drama Club at Pioneer and has taken part in many musicals. In their spare time, Liam enjoys singing, drawing and spending time with friends. Liam also enjoys volunteering for High Hurdles Therapeutic Riding program. After graduation, Liam is undecided as to what they will be doing, but hopes to remain in theatre. Liam has never been to Winterfest, so they are excited to experience it this year for the first time!
