Pioneer High School Girls Soccer Coach Addie Edwards recently traveled to Chicago to receive National Volunteer of the Year honors from U.S. Youth Soccer.
Mrs. Edwards, who previously received a similar honor from the New York State West Youth Soccer Association, helped save the life of a referee last May during warm-ups before a soccer game. She used a defibrillator to deliver two shocks that helped restore the ref's heartbeat.
