Pioneer High School senior Luke Matheis has been named an Independent Health/Business First Community All-Star.
Luke's community service began in 2022 when he donated proceeds from a 4-H pig sale to benefit the Veterans Administration Hospital in Batavia. He raised more funds through the sale of related T-shirts.
So far, his fund-raising efforts have netted more than $10,000 for improving the VA patient experience.
Luke has been involved in football, wrestling and Unified Sports at Pioneer. In addition he earned Eagle Scout honors by helping to improve Curriers Cemetery.
