Dr. Comstock did the school community a great service by keeping his rates the same throughout his association with Pioneer, officials said.
Dr. Comstock was a native of Miami, FL. He met his future wife Ginger while both attended Antioch College in Ohio.
He served in the Peace Corps in Ghana for two years before he and Ginger were married in 1968. Dr. Comstock studied medicine at Case Western Reserve University and completed his residency at University of Rochester/Highland Hospital. He practiced family medicine in Arcade from 1980 to 2018.
Dr. Comstock originally was contracted to serve two years in a "doctor shortage" area, and wound up settling in Arcade. He and Ginger had two daughters, Barbara and Kimberly, who are Pioneer alums.
A memorial service for Dr. Comstock will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, at 11:00 a.m., at United Church of Christ Congregational in Arcade.
