A joint Celebration of Life has been announced for former Pioneer teacher Rex Clouston and his wife, Marjorie, both of whom passed away last September.
Mr. Clouston taught at the former Arcade School when Pioneer Junior-Senior High School was being built. He then taught 9th grade history with Mary Lou Shenk for many years. He coached track alongside Bob Owens, did lighting for most of the musicals and productions through the 70s, and was advisor for Purposeful Life Club,
Mrs. Clouston was school nurse for a year until a full-time nurse could be hired. The Cloustons were married for 65 years.
According to the Cloustons' daughter, Terri Batt, a celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 25, at the First Baptist Church of Arcade. Visitation is from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., followed by the service at 2. Inurnment and military honors will be at Freedom Cemetery after the service.
