Pioneer School District has announced leadership changes aimed at supporting teachers and instruction.
Superintendent Nicholas Silvaroli said current Delevan Elementary principal Matthew Langworthy will shift to the vacant Director of Curriculum and Instruction position after his replacement is on board. Mr. Langworthy joined Pioneer as Delevan Elementary principal in December 2022.
Mr. Silvaroli said, "Matt has not only the skillset for the position, but the leadership characteristics that lend to the culture that we are building for Pioneer."
Mr. Silvaroli also said current Pioneer Middle School sixth grade teacher Carrie Hirsch will join the Curriculum and Instruction Department as its new instructional coach. Mrs. Hirsch, who was previously a third grade teacher at Delevan, will work with the elementary grades after over 20 years in the classroom.
Mrs. Hirsch will continue teaching as the district seeks her replacement. She said she will remain as president of the Pioneer Faculty Association.
"In her new role, Carrie will primarily be supporting teachers at the elementary grade levels with the instructional process across all tiers, including instructional design and delivery and data analysis," Mr. Silvaroli said.
