Retirement has brought its share of accolades to former Pioneer girls soccer coach Frank Asquith.
Mr. Asquith, an ex-Physical Education teacher and girls soccer coach at Pioneer for 34 years, was inducted into the Cattaraugus County Sport Hall of Fame on March 25 during a ceremony at the Gowanda Loyal Order Of Moose 1382.
Mr. Asquith's coaching career at Pioneer included the Section VI Class A-2 title in 2017—the first-ever soccer title in school history—along with five ECIC II titles and three sectional final appearances. He retired in 2018.
He celebrated the honor with his wife, Mary Sue, who was also a longtime teacher in the Pioneer district, along with family and friends.
