RUNNING FOR SCHOOL BOARD
NOMINATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Candidates running for school board will need at least 25 signatures of qualified voters of the district to be nominated. Board Member Petition
2. Petitions may be obtained through Carrie Bartoszek, District Clerk (email) in March of each year.
3. Petitions are due in the office of the district clerk by 5:00 p.m. 30 days before the election.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates are required to file with the district clerk a sworn statement to the effect that the expenditures, as well as the contributions received, did not exceed $500 (School Law 39th Edition Section 6:23). Statements must be filed with the District Clerk 30 days and 5 days before the district election and 20 days after the district election. If campaign expenditures or contributions exceed $500 then a sworn statement detailing expenditures and contributions with receipts must be submitted to the district clerk and the commissioner of education.

WHO CAN SERVE?
Board candidates must be:
At least 18 years old
Qualified to vote in the district
Able to read and write
A Pioneer School District resident for at least 1 full year before the election
Candidates cannot:
Be a current employee of Pioneer Schools
Live in the same household with a family member who serves on the same Board of Education.
