Transportation at Pioneer Schools: A Message from First Student

Dear Parents or Guardian:

This message is to make you aware of important bussing procedures we are asking all families to follow starting in September 2024. The reason for these procedures is to ensure the safety of all of our students. In addition, it allows for clear communication between the parents, school and bus garage.

If your child needs to ride to an alternate location (along an existing route) during the school week he or she must have a written note. The note must be sent into school and a pass will be issued through the school. This will reduce the confusion caused by multiple drop-offs. The driver will also need to see a responsible person before your child is released off the bus (elementary only). Students will NOT be released from the bus unless an adult is present. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS. In the unlikely event that an adult is not present, the student will be returned to the school, and someone will have to pick them up there. All arrangements must be in writing to the school. Arrangements should NOT be made between the bus driver and the student and/or parent.

For your child’s safety, we have done a lot of bus route changes in order to maximize the safe pickups and drop-offs of your children. We have also made improvements to the bus load counts and length of runs.

Lastly, we ask your child to be outside 10 minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time. The driver will not be able to wait if students are not ready and the driver will not be able to turn the bus around. This will ensure that everyone will arrive to school at the scheduled time.

Thank you for your support with this. Please feel free to reach out to us at the bus garage for any questions or concerns. Our staff will be happy to assist you. We look forward to another successful and safe school year.

Sincerely:
