Mary Lou Merlau, 15-year member of the Pioneer Board of Education, attended her final regular board meeting on June 21.
Mrs. Merlau lost her seat in the school board election May 17 to Mark Kless.
Acting Superintendent Nick Silvaroli said, "Mary Lou came on board about the same time I did, and she's been along for the ride ever since. She's exhibited great leadership through the tough times, especially early on. Her presence on the board has given us stability. I don't know what the future holds for Mary Lou, but her heart has always been with the school district. We've always felt your love for the school district, and we thank her for 15 years of board service."
