GIVING TREE HELPS DOZENS

December has been a very busy month, and as we prepare to enjoy time with our family and friends, Pioneer PRO feels a need to express its gratitude and appreciation for the “over-the-top” generosity and giving. This holiday season Pioneer Pro was able to assist our community in many ways.

It started with the PJs with Santa event at the Bliss Library on December 2, where the students spent some time with local kids and made crafts and snacks with Santa. That was followed by the Holiday Shoppe, which occurred on December 3 at Pioneer High School This event allowed the group to fund-raise a generous amount of money which allowed for some extra giving to local families.

The following weekend, Pioneer PRO had an opportunity to assist Angel Action in Wyoming County with organizing a food drive and some gift distribution to local families in need.

While these weekend events were taking place, there was plenty happening during the school week, too. The group set up the Giving Tree in the high school foyer and labelled the ornaments. Members organized gifts and gift bags for families as items were donated.

Results at the high school and Delevan Elementary indicate that the Giving Tree was able to provide gifts and necessities to 110 children and 42 families. By adding in those helped at the middle school and Arcade through their appeals, the Giving Tree total for 2016 is 207 children and 81 families. Thank you to the community, students and staff for your generosity!
